Unai Opyan / Obyan Beach, on Saipan’s southern coast in I Naftan, is a small cove adjacent to the Unai Obyan Latte Site, a registered archaeological site documenting early Chamorro habitation with latte stones and artifacts. The area also preserves World War II-era Japanese bunkers and lies within the broader historic district of Saipan’s landing beaches. Today, the beach serves as a public recreational site and supports coastal vegetation and coral reef ecosystems, making it important for both natural biodiversity and the cultural heritage of Saipan.
