Suicide Cliff is a steep limestone escarpment located at the northern end of Saipan. It is historically significant for its role during the Battle of Saipan in 1944, when hundreds of Japanese civilians and soldiers died there in mass suicides near the end of the campaign. Today the site is part of the broader Northern Marianas historic landscape, featuring memorials and views overlooking the coastal plain and Marpi region. It remains an important place for historical remembrance and cultural reflection.
